Ready for the last autocross of the season. |
The final autocross of the season, and the car made all five runs!
Once again I drove in CP on Hoosiers, but unlike last time, there wasn't any competition.
As I mentioned before, I had been concentrating on trying to get clean runs in. That plan didn't work for my first three runs as I hit four cones total.. My fourth run was clean as was my last run, which was my fastest -- 34.4. It's interesting that I went faster on each run -- 35.2 (+1), 34.9 (+2), 34.7 (+1), 34.5, and then 34.4 -- but only eight-tenths separated the slowest and fastest times.
This is the 34.5 with data overlay:
The last run felt quicker, but I was disappointed that was only a tenth faster than the previous one. Actually it was a tenth AND-A-HALF faster! I didn't have SoloStorm on for that run, so no idea where the difference in time was compared to the fourth run.
Also as I've mentioned running CP with no other competition, I try and push myself to get into the top 10 in raw time. Which I did -- seventh! I was 32nd in PAX, which was my highest placing running CP at any WDCR autocross from 2023-2025.

Just the tip using big rubber. |
Last offseason I had some plans but nothing came to fruition, so the car started 2025 as it left 2024. I'm leaning on finally pulling the trigger on Penskes for the rear. Other ideas include a new exhaust before this one gets ripped off, an aluminum driveshaft, new driver's seat and possibly E85.
For those who don't get the title reference, famous video from the SCCA community from the early 2000s:
