It's a C Prepared car. I left with click-bait on my last post . Rewinding back to the Cone Killer Classic where my car smoked and almost went up in smoke, there was still an afternoon session. I actually worked the first heat in the afternoon when I could have just bailed. Paul encouraged me to fold into his Camaro in an attempt to drive it in the afternoon heat. I tried to fit into his car a couple years ago, and with the seat position and rollbar, it was no bueno. I'm a little taller than him and have longer legs -- he's like a taller version of Mike "Junior" Johnson with more torso than legs. He said he made a couple changes since then and thought I might fit. I think he just wanted to laugh at me trying to pretzel into his car. After several minutes (I'm not sure, but maybe Paul was secretly videoing this), I did manage to fit in the car. Unfortunately, where there was smoke there was fire. No, that's not tire smoke. But before I go there, I'll recap my latest autocross. Which was on Sunday in this at the WDCR autocross on the crop-circle course at Summit Point: Just driving a school teacher's daily driver. I hoped to drive Sam Vassalo's Club Spec Mustang since he's been offering a seat in it every time we see each other. But Sam Strano and Kevin Henry took the Mustang to the Finger Lakes National Tour and broke it. At least that's what I read on the internet. So Karen offered up her daily driver, a completely bone stock 2023 Subaru WRX. Oh wait, it's not stock: It's stock! Part 1: Aisin AR5 swap into an LS Thirdgen F-Body

An 11,000-mile Aisin AR5 transmission from a Chevy Colorado. A staple in the drifting world, let's see what it will do in a thirdgen F-Body behind an LS engine for autocrossing. Project Whack-A-Mole continues. I finally figured out the fuel pump issue. The old Delphi fuel pump, struggling to deliver fuel, was replaced with a new Deatschwerks fuel pump which seemed to cure things. So I took the Camaro out for a test hit. The car felt good driving it around some shifting through the four gears. Then I got on a more open road, mashed the throttle in second, shifted fast to third, but the car wouldn't accelerate under its own power in gear. Clutch pedal went dead, it would go through gears but they wouldn't engage. I suspected it wasn't an issue with the T10 transmission but back to the hydraulic throwout bearing, which had already failed once before.
